CITY OF SOUTH FULTON UPDATES
Per the City of South Fulton (COSF) Charter, we must provide a Municipal Court presided over by a Chief Judge. In October 2017, the Honorable Tiffany Sellers was hired as Chief Judge for our Court. In November 2017, the COSF entered into a contract with the City of East Point to house inmates. In December 2017, the COSF entered into a contract with Union City to use their court facilities until the COSF can secure a location for its municipal Court. Court is held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
We have not had a City Manager since October 24, 2017 but we do have an interim team of the Mayor, Community Development Services Director, Treasurer/Finance Director and City Clerk functioning as a team until a new City Manager is hired. We anticipate hiring occurring around February 15, 2018.
Fulton County Schools and the COSF entered into a school bus safety camera enforcement agreement to capture motor vehicles unlawfully passing school buses. The terms of the agreement include the school system providing the cameras and the administration of them and the city providing the resources to enforce traffic and violations.
